Alessandro Garofalo is the Sicilian-born, multi-instrumental musician, also known as Maestro Garofolo. Often referred to as the “Italian Jackie Mittoo”, he is the iconic keyboard player of the Sud Sound System & Bag a Riddim band. Maestro Garofolo has also contributed to many important international projects including: Richie Stephens & The Ska Nation Band, Rankin Lele & Papa Leu, Original Sicilian Style, Abramo Laye, and Morelove Music productions.
On “DUB INTERNATIONAL” Maestro Garofolo presents diverse atmospheres and emotions, but maintains an internal coherence allowing for an immersive, gratifying listening experience. This cohesion is one of the albums many strengths, fruit born from the compositional and performance skills of Maestro Garofalo, well coordinated contributions harmoniously produced in a way that balances analog warmth with digital precision.
The album opens with “Waterfront”, with sounds reminiscent of waves crashing on the rocks. From the first notes of the track, Garofalo shows that he knows how to balance the wave between Echo and Reverb, obtaining a sound which is deep but never oppressing, vivid yet dreamy.
